Sterilisation unit
The sterilisation unit is required for sterilising instruments and cleaning laundry. Currently, this building does not exist and the current auto clave (to sterilise instruments) machine is broken beyond repair.
This project started out as two separate projects: (1) auto clave and (2) laundry. After learning a bit more about other hospitals and the requirements as listed in the guidelines by the government, the idea of a sterilisation unit was born. The hospital received recently two laundry machines by an NGO and was already working on renovating a building to house these big machines. This part is then already existing in the building and a second part will be built as part of this project. Furthermore, a layout will be developed to design the routing of staff and dirty materials to cleaner zone's where sterilisation and distribution will be done.
